Hello, my name is Lamar Greene. I am a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences at Emory University studying Human Health with a concentration in Health Innovations at the Goizueta Business School. My interest in reforming America’s healthcare system started during my junior year of high school after hearing the debate on the Affordable Care Act as a United States Senate Page. The summer after my junior year of high school was my second time interning at Health Diagnostic Laboratory. It was then that I discovered how broken our country’s healthcare system was when my grandmother needed heart surgery, while I was engaged on a research project on fish oil supplements at a company that was dedicated to the prevention and early detection of cardiovascular diseases. I hope to empower all people, especially those of underserved backgrounds, with the resources needed to lead healthier lives and have access to care. The Resource and Insurance Navigator Group shares this same vision. I hope to continue the work of this organization as the executive director in my third year of being involved with it.
